課程概述

本課程由哲學角度省思宗教問題，試圖借助哲學的運作方式（即：澄清概念、設定判準、建構系統），探討宗教現象與宗教理論。首先將清楚釐清宗教與宗教哲學之差異，進而探討宗教與信仰之關連，接著說明宗教之定義與類型。有此基礎認識之後，將進一步探討歷史上對宗教之批判與其合理的回應。接著，逐一探討宗教上之主要議題：上帝存在問題、神話與儀式、宗教之修行、密契主義問題、宗教語言等等。最後，總結上述之探討以說明宗教之現狀與未來，並提供當代人們一個面對宗教的合宜態度。

This course deals with phenomena and theories of religion in the light of philosophical reflections (i.e., clarifying the concepts, setting up the criterion, and constructing the system). It begins with the difference between religion and philosophy of religion, tackles the connection between religion and faith, and then explains definitions and types of religion. With this understanding this course will further discuss critics against religion during the history and the reasonable defensive replies. Following this, it will examine main topics like the existence of God, myth and ritual, religious practice, mysticism, and religious language. To sum up, it with reflect the present situation and the future prospect of religion, and suggest a proper attitude toward religion for today’s world.

課程目標

提供同學思索及探討宗教的方法與內容，使同學們得以界定個人合理的宗教觀與評斷社會上的宗教現象。藉由每次上課的議題，使同學們明白具體的宗教內容與合宜的宗教態度。
